QSM Consulting Professional – Consultant I

QSM currently has an opening in Washington, D.C. for a Consulting Professional – Consultant I. This is an exempt, full-time position.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Provide IT management consulting and project schedule/budget estimation advice to clients
  • Works as part of a high-performing, client-facing team
  • Quickly learn QSM’s suite of parametric estimation tools
  • Quickly learn Function Point Analysis
  • Analyze the health of large software projects
  • Use metrics to measure software project performance
  • Document analysis and findings into reports and briefings
  • Build extremely polished briefings, brief clients
  • Immediately provide value to our client and consulting team
  • Ability to aggressively learn new skills and constantly improve performance is a must

 

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent required
  • Problem Solving Skills: Excellent required
  • Education: Minimum four year college degree from an accredited school
  • Experience: Ten (10) years of technical and management consulting experience with a broad range of governmental and/or commercial customer interaction, including experience using system development life cycle management tools. A graduate degree may be substituted for five (5) years of experience and a formal certification relevant to system and software management practices (e.g. PMP, CMS, Six Sigma Black Belt) may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
  • Work history demonstrates initiative and proactive approach to working in teams
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance
  • Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area

 

Desired Skills, Education and Experience:

 

  • Experience working for a “Big Four” or other top tier consulting firm a plus
  • Client Experience: U.S. federal civilian government agencies a plus
  • Master’s degree a plus
  • Function Point Analysis certification a plus
