Introduction
to Function Point Analysis (FPA)
This
one-day introductory course is meant for anyone interested
in FPA and how it can be applied. Participants will gain an
overview of Function Point methodology and will learn on a
very high level how to do a function point analysis. With
this understanding, the class will then explore how FPA can
be applied for estimating, tracking, and benchmarking software
projects.
2 Day Function Point Analysis Course
Good
sizing is critical to good estimation, planning, and tracking.
For
business systems, the IFPUG Function Point standard is accepted
throughout
the world. It gives an accurate, reliable, and objective measure
of the size
of a business software product. This two-day QSM workshop
will give the participants the ability to measure the function
point size of
a software product or project from a written specification,
according to
IFPUG standards. The course also demonstrates how to use Function
Point sizing in SLIM-Estimate and SLIM-Control. Both new developments
and
enhancements of existing systems are covered. The training
is given by a
highly experienced, IFPUG certified (CFPS) trainer from QSM.
Available in
English or Dutch.
Function
Point Sizing Early in the Lifecycle
This
one-day course is designed to follow the two-day Function
Point Analysis course. The class helps participants
develop knowledge and experience counting function points
in the early stages of a software development. Because detailed
requirements do not yet exist, most of the basic uncertainty
in the early stages of a software estimate is in the size.
Participants will learn techniques for counting function points
in the early stages of a project and for dealing with uncertainty
in estimating the final system size.
