2. Auto Detection of Client - To use the Citrix server, you must have a Citrix client application installed on your local machine. When you first access the QSM Citrix Server page, a popup window will appear and check to see whether you have the right Citrix client for your web browser. There are three possible outcomes:
Correct Client installed - If you already have the correct Citrix client, you will see the popup window for a second before proceeding to the Citrix logon page (go to Step 4 for logon instructions).
Older Client installed - If you have a Citrix client loaded, but it is not the most current version, the popup window will prompt you to install the client on your machine. Follow Step 3 to install the Citrix client.
No Client installed - If you do not have a Citrix client installed, you will be prompted to install the client. Follow Step 3 to install the Citrix client.

the button to continue.
5. Folders and Applications - When your Username and Password have been authenticated, you will be logged into the QSM Application Server. To open a folder, just click on the link (QSM Beta Applications). Once the folder is open, you will see QSM applications including SLIM Estimate 5.0. To open an application, simply click on the icon. A seamless window will be launched on your desktop and you will be able to use the QSM application that you have selected. NOTE: QSM applications display best at a screen resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels and True (24 bit) Color. Contact QSM at 800 424-6755 for assistance if you experience problems with the display.
6. Storing files and local drive access.
Secure Server Drive - For optimal convenience and performance, QSM has created a secure data storage area for you. This storage area is assigned the drive letter H:. Keeping data stored on the server results in better application response time. This secure area is accessible only from your user logon account.
7. Printing from the QSM Application Server
- You will be unable to print from the QSM Application server unless your
printer specific drivers have been loaded on the server. If you foresee
the need to print, please let us know what type of printer you have installed
and we will work to provide printing for you.
If you experience problems connecting to the QSM server and believe they may be related to a firewall issue, providing the following details to your system administrator may be helpful:
Citrix powers the QSM Application Server. Citrix allows programs to be run from the server but accessed from your workstation. The initial communication from your workstation to the QSM server will be over Port 80 to the QSM Web Server. Once you have been authenticated, you will establish a session with the QSM Citrix server. All subsequent communications will occur over ports TCP 1494, and UDP 1604.
This information should help
your system administrator track down any problems that may occur. If there
are remaining issues, please contact QSM by
e-mail or call 1-800-424-6755 and request help with the Citrix
server.
