The
Marketplace: Periodically we like to share success stories with our customers.
Recently, a support consultant worked with a new customer on
an estimate via WebEx (a collaborative web-based environment).
During the 90-minute session, he helped the client identify a
totally unrealistic schedule, come up with 3 practical alternatives,
and generate a PowerPoint management brief.
At the end, the customer commented, “You
know, prior to SLIM it would have taken me 10 man-days to do what we
just did in 90 minutes - and my product wouldn’t have been half as good.” That made us feel great – it lets us know our clients are getting
a good return on their investment.

Education: John Bryant joins the
QSM team to head up our training efforts.
QSM has a longstanding relationship with John (first as a customer
– later as consultant). He is
wonderful at making people feel comfortable and teaching them to use
SLIM tools. Our courseware has been completely revised
for SLIM-Suite 6.0, so now is a great time to sign up for classes. Classes are
held monthly here in McLean
VA. We can also arrange for
on-site classes. Look for advanced user classes in the fall on size estimation, building
templates, automated reporting, and workbook customization.
QSM
Research: We’re gearing up for the next trend line update. We
currently have about 500 new projects….but we want more. To contribute completed project data, contact Kate Armel at
562 598-0397. We will
share the research results with those of you who contribute.
