QSM, Inc. Approved as Registered Education Provider by Project Management Institute

MCLEAN, VA, May 15, 2012 - Quantitative Software Management, Inc. (QSM) today announces that the Project Management Institute (PMI), the world’s largest project management member association, has named it as a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.) effective April 27, 2012. R.E.P.s are organizations that have been approved by PMI to help project managers achieve and maintain the Project Management Professional (PMP)®, Program Management Professional (PgMP)® and other PMI professional credentials. These organizations have met PMI’s rigorous quality criteria for course content, instructor qualification, and instructional design.

Project managers are increasingly turning to R.E.P.s for certification training and maintenance, especially since median salaries for the profession now exceed $100,000 (USD). QSM's SLIM (Software Life Cycle Management) Training teaches attendees how to accurately estimate project size (scope) and calculate productivity to project risk-buffered effort-time trade-offs. The SLIM Tool Suite embodies the proven methodology of estimating projects based upon past performance, leveraging QSM’s substantial industry database or one’s own historical data. The tracking, variance, analysis, forecasting, and benchmarking tools allow users to manage risk as a project unfolds and analyze key project metrics to meet project business goals and plan continuous improvement efforts. Special emphasis is given to probabilistic risk assessment and iterative development cycle modeling.

“QSM is excited to be an approved PMI R.E.P.,” said Larry Putnam, Jr., Co-CEO of QSM. “This will make it easier than ever for PMI members to earn PDUs, while learning software estimation and measurement best practices from our seasoned estimation experts.”

QSM joins more than 1,500 R.E.P.s in more than 80 countries. These organizations include commercial training providers, academic institutions, and corporate training departments within corporations and government agencies.
